Cocina 35 Brunch - Liberty Station brunch tips

  • Don't skip the chilaquiles: Cocina 35 Brunch is best known for its variety of chilaquiles, especially the Al Pastor and creamy habanero versions. If you’re unsure, the El Patron combo lets you try chilaquiles, eggs, beans, and cajeta French toast all on one plate.

  • Make a reservation or prepare to wait: weekend mornings can come with long waits, sometimes over an hour, especially for walk-ins. Booking through OpenTable is your best move for skipping the line.

  • Plan for a lively, loud brunch: this spot is popular for birthdays, girl brunches, and celebrations, so expect cowbells, singing, and a party vibe. If you're looking for quiet, ask for an outdoor table or go early.

  • The drinks are just as memorable: try the iced Café de Olla, mazapan latte, or horchata cocktail. They’re visually stunning and delicious, especially with the optional dipping cookies.

  • Don't sleep on the conchas: there’s often a roving concha and café cart circulating through the dining room. Keep an eye out for it and grab one while you can. It's a unique touch that adds charm to the experience.

  • Soak in the Instagram-friendly vibe: a giant pink cherry blossom tree anchors the dining room, and natural light floods the space. It’s one of the most photographed brunch interiors in the city and perfect for group pics.

  • Arrive early for the best parking: Liberty Station has street and lot parking, but it fills up quickly on weekends. Get there before 9:00am for the best shot at a close spot and minimal wait time.

  • Portions are generous, so consider sharing: many dishes are heavy, especially the chilaquiles, which come loaded with sauces, meats, eggs, and toppings. If you want to try more than one item, splitting is a smart move.

Cocina 35 Brunch - Liberty Station Brunchspotter review

VANESSA A.

CONTRIBUTOR

Cocina 35 Brunch in Liberty Station is one of those brunch spots that feels like it was designed for celebration. The first thing you notice walking in is the cherry blossom tree anchoring the dining room, and from there it’s nonstop color, energy, and movement. It’s a place that leans all-in on vibe without letting the food fall behind. I ordered El Patron, which covers every base on one plate: chilaquiles, beans, eggs, and a slice of cajeta-drenched French toast that holds its own. The Al Pastor chilaquiles are what I’ll come back for. The spice hits just right and the crispy chips don’t wilt under the sauce. The Café de Olla comes hot or iced, with piloncillo syrup on the side so you can sweeten it to your liking. That drink alone is reason enough to return. Service was upbeat and warm, even with a packed room and birthdays being celebrated at every other table. It’s loud, it’s festive, it’s unapologetically fun. If you’re not into a little chaos with your café, maybe keep moving. But if you want brunch that feels like a party and tastes like tradition, Cocina 35 Brunch in Liberty Station delivers. Just make a reservation and come hungry. You’re going to want the French toast and the chilaquiles.
