Gossip Grill brunch tips
Don't miss Saturday Trivia Brunch: every Saturday at noon, Gossip Grill hosts a high-energy trivia brunch with a rotating theme and games like "Let’s Make a Deal."
Ask for Joey as your server: regulars love his warm and attentive service, remembering guests by name and drink order. If he’s working, request his section for a top-notch experience.
Get the Spam Musubi Benny: this signature dish layers crispy rice, seared Spam, poached eggs, and sesame hollandaise with a garlic chili crunch. It's comfort food with a twist that locals come back for.
Pair your meal with a mimosa bucket: instead of going bottomless, grab the mimosa bucket for a better pour and more flexibility. It’s the go-to for drag brunches and patio parties alike.
Enjoy prime people-watching on the patio: the outdoor seating is covered, colorful, and full of Hillcrest energy. It’s where you’ll find the best light for photos and a lively scene that’s dog-friendly too.
Come hungry and get the “so... about last night” bowl: this dish features tater tots smothered in sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, and pickled shallots. Perfect if you’re recovering from the night before.
Arrive early to secure parking: street parking on University Avenue can be limited, especially during events. Show up 20–30 minutes early or plan to walk a few blocks from nearby neighborhoods.
The vibe is fun, loud, and inclusive: expect bold art, strong drinks, and a DJ or trivia mic going. Gossip Grill isn’t quiet, but it’s full of joy, sass, and LGBTQ+ pride in every detail.

CONTRIBUTOR
Gossip Grill feels like a party that never quite went to sleep, and brunch here is its morning-after sweet spot. The space is unapologetically playful—bright neon, leafy pink decor, drag posters, glitter accents—and the food keeps up with the fun. There’s a sense of joy here that’s baked into every part of the experience, from the trivia shouts over the mic to the bottomless mimosa clinks happening tableside. I ordered the Spam Musubi Benny on a whim and now it’s my go-to. Sticky rice, silky poached eggs, sesame hollandaise, and just enough garlic chili crunch to wake you up if the night before didn’t. Their “so... about last night” plate comes fully loaded with tater tots, sausage gravy, and a don’t-ask calorie count. Drinks lean cheeky and bold: the Pussy Punch, the Tongue the Bean, and the house Marys come garnished like edible centerpieces. Servers know the menu like regulars, and it shows. You don’t go to Gossip Grill just for brunch. You go because it’s one of the few places that turns Sunday morning into a celebration of the full spectrum. And if you stick around for drag bingo, well, you were never just stopping in.
