Pacific Beach AleHouse brunch tips

  • Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am-2:00pm: plan ahead if you're craving their breakfast burrito or croissant sandwich, because brunch-only items are available for a limited window on weekends.

  • Grab a table on the rooftop sky deck for ocean views: the best seats in the house are upstairs, where you’ll catch a breeze, views of Crystal Pier, and a more relaxed beachy vibe away from the TVs and crowds.

  • The Breakfast Burger is a beast in the best way: stacked with an 8oz patty, crispy bacon, a fried egg, and smothered in bacon and sausage gravy on a brioche bun, it’s a savory powerhouse served with herb roasted potatoes that brunch lovers rave about.

  • Don't miss the $20 champagne bottle deal: instead of ordering individual mimosas, go for the full bottle of bubbly and make your own table mix with juice on the side. It’s popular and great for groups.

  • Try the Skillet Cornbread Benedict for a Southern-inspired surprise: topped with grilled andouille, mustard-bacon hollandaise, and poached eggs, this dish stands out for its savory-sweet contrast and Southern flair.

  • They make a solid espresso martini and frozen cocktails: the AleHouse Espresso Martini and Diego Vice are two local favorites when you’re in the mood for something strong, cold, and Instagram-worthy.

  • The Meat Lovers Croissant sandwich is a hidden gem: stuffed with bacon, ham, sausage, eggs, caramelized onions, and avocado, this croissant sandwich is massive, buttery, and built for brunch cravings.

  • Parking can be tight so use paid lots or walk from side streets: street parking fills up quickly near the beach, but there are paid lots nearby and some free spots around the neighborhood if you don’t mind a short stroll.

Pacific Beach AleHouse Brunchspotter review

CONTRIBUTOR

Pacific Beach AleHouse isn’t chasing the buzzy brunch crowd. It already has what people are looking for: a sun-washed rooftop with an ocean breeze, a menu that leans hearty, and just enough drink options to keep things interesting. Service moves quickly but stays personable, and the setting—right off Grand Avenue—draws a relaxed crowd that’s part local, part day-tripping. The Chorizo & Egg Burrito is the dish that shows the kitchen isn’t just phoning it in. A generous helping of chorizo, roasted tomato salsa, and just enough avocado to keep it balanced. The chilaquiles are dependable, crunchy where they need to be, and finished with a drizzle of crema that’s more thoughtful than most. Other brunch staples include a loaded meat-lovers croissant and a skillet cornbread Benedict that’s surprisingly nuanced. Drinks skew playful. The espresso martini, bloody Mary, and a glittery spritz called Tickled Pink are the ones most likely to show up in Instagram photos. That said, locals tend to go back for the classic micheladas or the frozen Diego Vice on warmer days. This is brunch without the performance. Come for the food, stay for the patio, and leave with just enough of a buzz to wander down to the sand.
